RHODOS
Welcome to the island of the sun, the island with the greatest sunshine during the year, since Sun God chose it, after the battle of the Titans: he had imagined a beautiful island that would emerge from the blue waters of the Aegean and could not be other than that of Rhodes!
It is located in the southeastern Aegean within the South Aegean Region and belongs to the Dodecanese complex. It was incorporated into the Hellenic State in March 1947, along with the rest of the Dodecanese, and is one of the leading tourist destinations worldwide.

We start our journey with the sights of the island of Rhodes.

In the heart of the old town is the Palace of the Grand Magister, which is a must visit by all means. It is also known as “Castello” from the Italian “Castello”, the medieval castle of Rhodes. Within the walls there is the palace, the Knights' hospital and the fortifications. |

On Dosidiadou Street, in the small (second) fountain of the old city, you will find one of the oldest Jewish synagogues in the world, Kahal Shalom. In the synagogue there is a wonderful museum, which showcases the history and culture of the Jewish community of Rhodes.

Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Aquarium of Rhodes, which is a 5' walk from our apartments. There you will see many marine species, while the Italian architecture of the Aquarium is of particular interest. On the western side of the island, after the village of Paradisi, you will find the famous Valley of the Butterflies, where the only butterfly species Euplagia quadripunctaria rhodosensis lives, and covers the entire valley after May, due to the intense humidity present in the place.

During your trip to Monolithos, you can make a stop at Kopria beach, near the village of Kamiros, to enjoy the clear waters and tranquility. In the afternoon, after 17.00, we recommend you visit Filerimos, in Ialysos, where you can walk through the beautiful nature, next to peacocks, and climb to the huge Cross, where you can see the extraordinary view of almost the entire island.

THE EAST SIDE OF RHODES

On the eastern side you have to visit the famous village of Lindos, with its unique architecture, one of the most picturesque villages on the island. You can swim in the central beach of Lindos or in the bay of St. Paul. The best time to enjoy your swim in Agios Pavlos is after 17.00, because the temperature is not so high. Then, explore the straits of Lindos, visit the Acropolis of Lindos, while you can relax in the cafes of the area for coffee, desserts and ice cream. If you are sensitive to high temperatures, we recommend that you do not visit the Acropolis before 17.00. |

FUN and PEACE

Do not forget to visit Panagia Tsambika, the patroness of our island, which is located in a church on a mountain in the Archangelos area of Rhodes, and offers an unforgettable view. After Tsambika beach, you can continue to eat at Stegna (Archangelos), where you will find many fish taverns, right in front of the sea. In the village of Embonas in the northern part of the island you will also find many traditional tavernas.
